Students at FPU Only: Community Assistant AY 24-25
Job Summary:
Community Assistant (CA):
Under the general direction of the Director of Residential Life and Community Standards and supervised by the Resident Director (RD) of their respective area, Community Assistants (CAs)work collaboratively with campus colleagues and offices, student leaders, and community stakeholders to improve campus life for all members of Raven Nation. They do this by building campus community, developing impactful programming, providing needed services for students, and connecting individual students and groups with community service opportunities.Core Function: Programming
CAs will spend approx. 6 hours/week on programming. These activities may include, but are not limited to:
- Work with RD to develop and plan impactful programming for residents within your area
- Partner with other campus organizations and departments to meet programming goals
- Conduct effective marketing via, fliers, social media, door knocking, invitations, tabling, etc.
CAs will spend approx. 6 hours/week on serving and improving our campus community. These activities may include, but are not limited to:
- Driving student shuttles
- coordinator on-campus and off-campus community service events
- working at the front desk in the Office of Residential Life and/or the Dean of students as needed
Experience and Qualifications:
- Must have at least a 2.5 GPA
- Reasonable conduct record
- A desire to serve your campus community with a positive attitude and enthusiasm for the work
- Honesty and accountability
- Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing
- Must be able to work weekends
- Experience in event planning and community service
- A valid driver’s license for at least 3 year and willingness to drive university vehicles
- Basic office skills
