Position Summary
Franklin Pierce University invites applications for the position of Head Coach for the Women’s Softball program. This is a full-time role responsible for leading all aspects of a competitive NCAA Division II program, including recruiting, player development, program administration, and student-athlete success.The Head Coach will provide leadership that aligns with the University’s mission, supports student-athlete academic achievement, and promotes a positive team culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of the softball program, including:
- Practice planning and game preparation
- Recruitment and retention of student-athletes
- Player development and performance evaluation
- Manage program operations:
- Budget planning and financial oversight
- Scheduling and travel coordination
- Equipment and facility management
- Ensure compliance with NCAA, conference, and University rules and regulations
- Monitor and support student-athletes’ academic progress and personal development
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performance team culture
- Represent the University and athletic program in a professional manner on campus and externally
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred
- Prior collegiate coaching and recruiting experience strongly preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA rules and compliance requirements
- Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills
- Commitment to academic excellence and holistic student-athlete development
- Ability to manage budgets and oversee program operations effectively
