Controller

FPU seeks an experienced Controller to fill an upcoming vacancy. The Controller reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer and currently supervises employees responsible for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll and Accounting. The Controller and the Finance Team are responsible for all accounting-related activities including budget management. Other duties include managing available cash and debt obligations, managing the annual audits as well as preparation of financial and grants reports, payroll, accounting, preparing tax reports, financial analysis, and committee work, etc.
The position requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration (graduate degree recipients are desirable as well) and significant experience in accounting and financial management ideally in education or other relevant industries. A certified public accounting license is not required, but preferred. Strong analytical and organizational skills and strong management qualities are crucial. The ability to communicate effectively, collaborate, and solve problems is expected as is familiarity with accounting software. Experience in grants management is desirable. Fluent use of Microsoft Office applications is required.
