Accounting Specialist - Temporary Position
Franklin Pierce University is currently seeking a temporary Accounting Specialist to cover a leave of absence to support the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Director of Finance and Administrative Services, and Senior Accountants in carrying out the daily, weekly, and monthly accounting responsibilities of the Finance and Accounting Department. This position involves working closely with the entire Finance and Accounting team, including interns, to ensure timely and accurate completion of various accounting tasks. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to contribute to a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Prepare and input standard journal entries (JE’s) and adjusting journal entries.
Reconcile various balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
Assist in monthly and annual financial closing processes.
Reconcile monthly bank statements.
Perform general office and administrative duties as needed.
Assist with Accounts Payable and Cash Receipts processing.
Participate in other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks and special projects as required by the CFO or Senior Accountants.
Complete other related duties as assigned.
Position Requirements/Skills/Abilities:
Associate or bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field, preferably in Accounting.
One to Five years of accounting experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Demonstrated experience in problem solving and process improvements
Some experience with a fully integrated accounting system, MS Office and similar general purpose software programs.
Must have the ability to manage time and tasks well with multiple priorities and deadlines.
Must be detail oriented, self-motivated and have problem solving skills.
Must have excellent communication, documentation and interpersonal skills.
Must successfully complete criminal background check.
